City of Lugano

Lugano, with a population of about 53'000 inhabitants, extending over an area of 31,2 km2 and about 33'000 guaranteed jobs, can reach, thanks to its position, up to 10 million people within 100 km.
he City is located on the shore of the Ceresio Lake and is close to two other important lakes: Lario and Verbano.
The economy of the City of Lugano is based on three main sectors which developed and acquired a leading position at different times and for a series of circumstances, are perfectly integrated and harmonised with each other, thus establishing a structure and a dynamic and functional image: the tourist industry, the economy, the financial and banking services. The City is the third financial market in the Confederation and meets the most sophisticated demands of the high-tech service industry.
There are many and various reasons for deciding to spend a holiday in the region Lake Lugano. Much of its success as a centre of tourism derives from its temperate climate, moderated by the presence of the lake, with mild winters and a high proportion of sunny days. The landscape has not been spoilt by excessive urbanisation, and its natural balance of mountain, hill and lowland makes it an agreeable place to be in any season, offering a wide range of things to do: mountain hiking, bathing in lake and swimming pool, walking through virtually unspoilt countryside and villages, as well as doing essential business and shopping.
The region's attractions are varied, and it offers support and sustenance to many cultural facilities and activities: museums devoted to ethnography and the visual arts; a constant steam of concerts and events; historic city centres, traditional domestic architecture and the modern offerings of today internationally famous "Ticino school".
We are sure that Lugano will be an extraordinary stage for all those that will want to be the leading parts of
LUGANONAUTICA.
